Software engineer, ex-PhD candidate at the TU Delft cyber-analytics lab, hobby musician and sports enthusiast.
Hi, I'm Robert, software engineer and PhD candidate at the TU Delft (work submitted, defense date pending). I am interested in high-performance systems at the intersection of machine learning and low-level computing — currently focused on GPU kernel optimization, computational graph design, and understanding the full stack from hardware up. I write about it in my blog.
My engineering spans C++ systems engineering, C# and Python development, and an education in electrical engineering gives me a basis for understanding hardware/software design trade-offs. Previously I spent four years at TU Delft researching statistical learning algorithms, publishing four first-author papers (and one more submitted), and building the software infrastructure to validate them.
Apart from coding and science I do sports like hitting the gym, table tennis, volleyball at the beach, and surfing. Creatively I play guitar, and strive to learn as much as I can about writing and producing music.
